The shakedown of the all new QFR08 has been scheduled for next week (16th - 20th June). Final preparations are taking place for what will be QFR's longest ever testing phase. The car itself looks good, with a high build quality and impressive design effort.
Initial testing will focus on driver training and reliability, with later tests scheduled for performance improvement and vehicle development.
QFR 08 are pleased to announce a new sponsorship deal with TRED. Trinity Race Engine Development are an engine development company who specialise in Karting. The initial test of QFR08 has been extremely encouraging. 63 laps of the Nutts Corner track were completed with thanks to the track owners who have agreed to sponsor the team. All of the critical systems are functioning correctly. The most experienced QFR drivers are extremely happy with the initial handling and power delivery characteristics. Further improvements can and will be made over the coming weeks.

QFR recently received sponsorship in the form of a quantity of bioethanol (E85) fuel for engine testing purposes. The fuel was supplied by Irish Racing Fuels and Lubricants, Northern Ireland’s sole distributor for Sunoco Race Fuels.
Sunoco racing fuels are part of the Anglo American Oil Company Ltd, which is a British based company which prides itself on the quality and consistency of its racing fuels and lubricants. They manufacture and supply the high performance market throughout Europe with Sunoco and 76 Racing Fuel, and Joe Gribbs Driven Racing Oil.

After some very useful and informative testing, the team have now commenced the final rebuild of QFR08. During the next 3 days the car will be stripped, painted and rebuilt. Any final modifications will be made in preparation for the competition from the 10th - 14th of July at Silverstone. The team is in a very strong position in advance of this year's event and hope to capitalise fully on the time gained throughout the design and manufacture phase.
It is anticipated that the car will once again be tested prior to the competition to allow further driver familiarisation and set-up improvements.
