QFR at F1 in Schools

On the 6th and 7th December QFR attended the F1 in Schools Competition at the Ulster Folk and Transport museum. This competition involves technology students of a variety of ages representing their schools in a competition of design and speed. The objective is to build small CO2 powered cars and race them against each other. Judges award marks to the teams based on design and performance. Several members of the QFR team had the pleasure of judging the entrants to the competition and were amazed by the amount of effort which goes into producing these cars. Gavin Dunn, from QFR, gave a presentation about Formula Student and the cars built at Queen's to encourage the young designers to do engineering and maybe even join QFR one day.
